1. Shootout Leaves Captain Ron’s

The Lake of the Ozarks Shootout moved from Shooters 21 to Captain Ron’s Bar & Grill in 2008. And in late-2024, Shootout organizers announced the race would be leaving the iconic Lake hotspot.

The race has been relocated to the intersection of the Glaize Arm and the Main Channel of the Lake. Dog Days and the new Oasis at Lakeport entertainment complex will co-host the event.

“We are very excited to be moving the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout to a new location on the Lake that we believe will be safer for racers, better for attendees and vendors, and most importantly, to help us raise even more funds for Lake area charities,” said Taylor Scism, Marine Technology’s VP and a Shootout Board of Directors member. “We have grown exponentially over the last few years, and this new location will be able to grow with us.”

“I think that this is going to be a great thing for the Lake area,” said Osage Beach Police Chief Todd Davis. “Of course, the Shootout started here in Osage Beach when it began at Shooters 21, and I think that Dog Days Bar & Grill will be a great location for it to take place.”

The Shootout’s two-day races are scheduled for Aug. 23-24, 2025.
